What is Copsy?
Copsy is a free Mac app that copies footage off camera memory cards. To copsy a card is to plug it in and let one app do the rest. Copsy detects the card by content — Sony, ARRI, Blackmagic, RED and Canon cameras, drones and audio recorders — copies it to an external drive and, if you want, to Google Drive or Dropbox in the same pass. Every file is verified with ASC-MHL checksums, the film-set standard, so you can prove each clip copied bit for bit. Clips land in folders by date and source, a delivery report is written, and Telegram tells you the card is safe. Copsy does the core offload work that Hedge, OffShoot, ShotPut Pro and Pomfort Silverstack charge for, at no cost, on macOS 13 or later.
